Chemical peels

 You may require a glowing look for a wedding, or a more in-depth peel for a more problematic skin. The ageing process is ongoing throughout our lives.
Unbelievably, depending on our lifestyle, the effects of ageing can be visible in our 20’s. The underlying connective tissue and padding becomes less elastic and drier, hence the skin begins to sag, look less supple and wrinkles begin to form.
Additional damage can occur as a result of excessive sun exposure, smoking and alcohol.

The term Chemical Peel can sometimes cause confusion. A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel. The regenerated skin is smoother, less wrinkled and appears fresher than the old skin. While a single peel will deliver a noticeable benefit, a course is sometimes recommended for optimum results.

At The Body Detox Clinic Newcastle we provide a variety of peels to suit each individual skin condition. The peels range from lighter ones (AHA) where the skin will not physically peel to a TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) peel.

You can buy AHA products in pharmacists and department stores, but these products are not permitted to contain AHA concentrations of more than 10 percent--too low, really, to have much effect on the skin. Only trained professionals such as a nurse or doctor can use stronger concentrations. These are described as medical peels.

All our peel solutions are categorised as a medical strength. Therefore only qualified healthcare professionals can use these peel solutions.

Types of peels available

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA)

(AHAs)  such as glycolic acid  is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces a light peel for treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Used to freshen the skins appearance and give a radiant look.
These acids essentially work by exfoliating the skin. They loosen and remove the layer of dead cells on the skin’s surface thus revealing the smoother, healthier-looking layer below.
This is excellent treatment to improve ones complexion and boost confidence.

Easy Phytic peel.

Classed as a superficial to medium depth peel.
Easy Phytic Solution is based on Skin Tech’s new release-controlled technology.
Easy Phytic is different, since it must not be neutralized.
It provides slow-release, progressive but complete penetration and full action of all the components of the solution.

Trichloroacetic acid peels (easy TCA)

Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) is a medical peel with a wide range of depths, actions and effects.
This two-layer skin peel works by exfoliating the top layers to stimulate collagen throughout all the layers of skin.
It can be used as a superficial, mid and mid to deep dermal peel.
On the face the Easy TCA peel can be used to fight the most noticeable signs of ageing, such as deeper lines and wrinkles, dry uneven skin colour, superficial blemishes and works well to improve acne scarring.

Dermal fillers

At The Body Detox Clinic Newcastle we use only premium range dermal fillers. A dermal filler is a substance which is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and smooth out lines and wrinkles.
These are the best fillers available such as Restylane and Juvederm .
All have been proven to be safe and effective. These technologically advanced man made fillers are animal free and therefore require no test prior to use.

Anti Wrinkle Injections

 Line and wrinkle treatments (more commonly known as Botox)
Botox is one of the best known and popular non-surgical treatments for treating lines and wrinkles caused by smiling, laughing and frowning. It is used to prevent the muscle contractions that cause furrows and fine lines when the face is making expressions. The treatment is safe and virtually painless and results are visible within four to ten days, lasting for three to four months

Line and wrinkle treatments are commonly used to treat areas in the upper part of the face, these treatments prevent fine lines and deep wrinkles from appearing by relaxing the muscles and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles already formed, restoring a more youthful appearance.
